It was a privilege to anchor the three-month High Impact Leadership Academy (HIDP) program for MTN Nigeria’s Managers and Senior Managers. The programme was delivered as The High Impact Leadership Academy (THILA) giving a comprehensive learning experience that combined theory, practical application, and real-world case studies. We explored 16 case studies, applied 12 management models, and distilled key learnings into 112 acronyms that summarized performance takeaways from the different disciplines. The program equipped these MTNN leaders with the skills and knowledge needed to drive leadership impact, drawing insights from five key disciplines: Strategy, Communication, Problem-Solving, Leadership, and Coaching.
The 4 critical learning areas were:
- People:
Through the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), participants gained a deeper understanding of their strengths and weaknesses, and learned a critical framework for optimizing their interaction with both their selves and their teams to deliver their best versions, consistently and sustainably. - Process:
Participants acquired modern day practical tools and techniques that will help drive consistent efficiency and effectiveness across their respective teams. - Performance:
Participants were treated to a wide array of case studies to augment their appreciation of numerous performance models that create a habit for success across first class teams. The application of the models will drive a muscle memory for execution across their teams, delivering sustainable wins going forward. - Personal:
Through first class models and benchmarking tools on self-awareness and assessments, the participants developed a high impact leadership mindset that promotes the amazing Self-Development that comes from aligning Self Direction with Self-Management.
The program culminated in two brilliant capstone projects that addressed current MTN Nigeria opportunities. Feedback was resoundingly positive, with participants demonstrating significant growth and development as leaders.

I have already begun with setting up a process to streamline my team’s effort expended on activities that can be automated and save useful energy on high impact projects. So I have started refining the criteria for segmenting projects by risk levels so that all low risk projects can follow a standard assurance check automatically while considerable efforts are prioritized towards medium and high impact projects.
“Yes.
The communication course has been instrumental in enhancing my strategic engagement. I applied the TMT model with NAT to escalate a critical issue within my unit to the GM, clearly outlining the core challenges, proposed actions, and supporting data with timelines. The clarity and structure of the message were well received, enabling my GM to effectively present the issue to the COO, highlighting key concerns, their impact, and actionable steps.
Additionally, I’ve leveraged the course learnings to address performance gaps within my team through coaching and developmental feedback. This has helped secure team buy-in and support, while also providing a more structured approach to tracking goals and objectives”
Best training I have ever had. You don’t want to miss any 5 minutes.
Keep up the great work. You effectively kept the class engaged despite being online
We make decisions everyday, but we have now been equipped with a structured model for decision making. This enables us to make better decisions as leaders.
